The only mention, I noticed, of the 17th U.S. Infantry in SRS data is five entries for Krag, #1810:
1. a model 1892 rifle issued 10/24/1894 - 17th Infantry, 2. 1892 rifle 12/23/1897 Co. "F" 17th Inf., 3. 92R 01/07/1898 Capt. Chubb - Co "F" 17th Inf., 4. 92R 17th Inf. (repaired), 5. 92R 03/25/1898 Capt. Chubb (repaired).
