It's really a shame that there isn't one place to find all this info.  According to Wikipedia, there were 72,339 troops involved in the Spanish American war.  A book with all their names, troops, etc wouldn't be that big.

The official roster of Ohio soldiers in the war with Spain, 1898-1899 has something like 18,000 men listed and is about an inch and three quarters thick.  Of course only the Forth and the Eighth managed to see Porto Rico and Cuba.  It's about the size of a jump-the-fence-Catholic Lutheran Sunday hymm book
