In a side by side comparison the current U.S. military rifle the M4 carbine came up woefully inadequate against a 1898 krag rifle. The 121 year old distant cousin of the colt easily outscored th M4. The tests were not cronographed but it is believed the M4 had a slight velocity advantage. The range was 7 feet. Each weapon was allowed 10 tries at the target from a stationary position. The targets speak for themselves. So when faced with an empty rifle I think I will stick with my krag and it's bayonet.

Took me a minute, couldn’t figure out how you had so many ‘keyholes’ that grouped. Gotta read the fine and not so fine print. Great comparison btw.

I think my effective range is ten feet.

I think you should use your fake Krag bolo bayonet and scrape off some of that ancient wall paper!

(I used to have stuff like that in our kitchen a few years ago. Ha! Ha!)

Yea, I knew you had a fake Bolo. I thought that it was what was on your Krag in the picture.

Better look closer. There is no remnants of a standard blade at the guard. Usually there is a 1/4 inch straight section, a gap if you will, before it swells out to the bolo section.

Besides that fake bolos do not have scabbards.
