Winchester brass is not too unusual and is just fine. You paid a fair price for this new brass! I think around 50c each is a good price for new brass.

Some brass doesn't have the rim that the 30-40 round is designed originally with. If your's doesn't have the rim, it will shoot just fine but might have some feeding problem from the magazine. There have been posts written about this. I am speaking from having read the posts, not from experience.
