'FredC' - The $30.00 price was just for sets of 'Pack Equipment'.

They listed one one cannon on carriage for 'Lawn Decoration', (no cartridges), for $250.

It appears Bannerman was hoping to sell the whole "Lot", in bulk, to some government. But, I am sure any interested party could have negotiated a smaller purchase.

Up until the 1960's, when U.S. laws addressed 'Destructive Devices', it was possible for the Public to buy functioning breech-loading cannon.

I knew a guy, back in 1964, that had a Finnish 20mm Lahti anti-tank rifle on a sledge. He fired it at a nearby State rifle range on a regular basis!

(I don't know what is used for Avalanche control. That would be Fun)!
