Title: Re: Bonnie & Clyde Photoshop? Post by butlersrangers on Nov 18th, 2019 at 3:06pm
The picture of Clyde Barrow, wearing a Fedora and squatting in front of the gun laden "V-8", was in the original post. (The "V-8" was stolen in Texas and has a Texas license-plate).
The pictured 'Barrow Gang' accomplice was "W.D." (William Daniel Jones), who was 16 or 17 years old in the photographs. The Bonnie and Clyde Gang photographs were from a camera and several rolls of undeveloped film, that Police found at a Joplin, Mo. 'hideout', in 1933. This was the scene of a violent shootout and a "large arsenal" of weapons were recovered. (Actually, seven guns: four rifles, a 'sawed-off' shotgun, a revolver, and a BAR, I believe). Later in July, 1933, the gang was in gun battles at Platte City, Mo. (Red Crown Motor Court - hideout) and 'Dexfield Park', near Dexter, Iowa, where larger amounts of military weapons were recovered. FWIW - It is likely, the 'Gang's Krag' was recovered by Police at Joplin, Mo. It is rather clear, the weapons preferred by the 'gang', in the later gun battles, were the BAR(s), sawed-off semi-auto shotguns, and 1911 Colts. (BTW - Clyde was 25 and Bonnie 24 at the time of their deaths in Louisiana. Their crime spree lasted from 1932 to 1934). (p.s. - God, their cars and 'digs' must have smelled really bad)! |
