That's insane!!!  I'll tell you one thing - I think the guys standing in the line of fire are certifiably NUTZ!!!  There ain't enough gold in Fort Knox for me to volunteer for that...

My Air Force son that was in Cyber Systems tipped me off that this was fake news.

Just proving that there was no quid pro quo. ;D

I suppose the real story is that 'Mankind', (now there's an oxymoron), will quickly give Artificial Intelligence ample reason to 'snuff our wicks'.

In my research of Krag info I found an article from the early 1900's during the Industrial Revolution. The author of this article stated "machines will become more like a man and man will become more like a machine" (maybe not quite word of word, going by memory). Wonder what he would think of the world today when it would be very difficult for most of us to get by without electricity and combustion engines.
I dug a ditch 19" deep by 135 feet long for a new electrical service to my old farmhouse using a mattock this Fall. Everybody I know think I'm nuts. But I am overweight, 60 years old and don't go to a gym. I did it for the exercise. A trencher could have done it in 2 hours. Back in 1900 this would have not been an issue with anybody.

Heck, I'm 57 and my exercise is mostly going outside to work in the garden, pick up twigs and build fences. I couldn't imagine not being active like that and having machines do it all.

But, when (God permitting!) I'm 90 or so, I just hope my grandkids will do the work for me. Ha! Ha!

(I want to still be shooting my Krags, though.)

So Whig, I suppose you have a phd. I got mine back in 1987 when I bought my first house. I wanted to put up some fencing by the front door and put in a pole for basketball. Went to the local Farm and Fleet (like a Tractor Supply) and bought me a post hole digger.

Sorry- good thought. I have a thin tipped shovel I use to cut through the hard clay and rocks. Great exercise!

I'll only buy one if they make a digital version with Blue Tooth. Otherwise, I'll stick with my analog shovel.

The best I can come up with is to give it to the robot like the one in the original post.

Yah ... right ... give AI the means to bury us, after they shoot us!

That's the least "they" could do. Personally, I think the second coming would happen before that.

If I had an Intelligent Robot, I would teach her to reload ammo, anneal Brass, cast bullets, and clean guns.

Her? I'm thinking of so much more she could do. Clean the shed. Roof over the family room. BR, I think you can use more of your imagination. You know...think outside of the box.

"Her? I'm thinking of so much more she could do." is not such a sexually suggestive comment too much for all the politically correct, sensitive members here? For shame!

I'd throw a Jane Mansfield in a little French maid outfit husk on it and put it on "Fetch me a beer every ten minutes" setting.

Robo Beer fetching is where it's at these days.

Definitely one of the most bizarre things I've seen in years.

Nightmares have been born from less.
