	OK, does the receiver actually say 1899? What is the barrel length? What is the condition of the bore? The front sight is not original. The stock appears to be a shortened rifle stock with a Mauser front band and retainer. The cleaning rod is interesting as is the lower band retainer! Might have another forend spliced on. Could be a Bannerman or Stokes Kirk but it looks like a nicer job than they are known for. Should be a fun shooter.

	The bore is good. It is a model 1898. The serial number is 240781.
