unit marking/date question

Hi- brand new forum member here, with some standard new guy questions. I have a beautiful 1898 Krag rifle serial no. 1368XX. Unit markings on the stock show a large "91" in stacked numbers over a smaller side by side "47". The stock also has a very crisp 1903 cartouche. Can anyone advise the production date? Might the 1903 stock be original for that serial number? (Sure does look that way). Last, any ideas about the unit markings? Thanks for any infomation you experts can provide.

Hi, Welcome. It has a DOB of October 1898. It probable had been restocked somewhere in it's life. Someone else may be able to help with the unit markings. John
