Possibly for the last time, as health detoriates, and time may be limited..

I have been busy going through several of my old accounts on the net lately, and luckily I was able to remember the password for my account here as well. Smiley

Have spendt some few hours here reading my old posts, and it sure brings back a lot of memories.
They serve to remind me of the people I've been able to help out in different ways here, and I'd say that's worth the trouble.
But I also have an uncashed check pinned to the wall above my desk, as a memento of the cases where I failed to come up with a solution.
Like a M/1912 front sight that never made it to Alaska where it was much anticipated..
I can only feel sorry for not being able to deliver in those cases, but rest assured, you were never forgotten.

As I will probably be faced with the eternal dillemma of having so much to do, and so little time, I can't promise to be of any help here.
But I will try to collect whatever I have left of parts and ship it over to the other side of the pond, so it can be available to those who still are in search for parts.

Some day we will all be checking out for the last time, but as long as we pass history on to those who follow us, we will be able to keep our knowledge alive.

So fellow Krag enthusiasts, remember that you are not just hunters, shooters, and gun-nuts!
You are in fact caretakers of the history for generations of hunters, marksmen, soldiers, engineers and inventors.  Smiley

Keep that history alive, keep your powder dry, and let your Krag's be able to deliver a few rounds on the range and in the field from time to time.
Someone is bound to ask a question just out of curiosity, and you will be able to pass the knowledge on to him/her.

We'll meet again.
Martin (Nord)

Nord,

What a wonderful message and philosphy - I don't believe we ever corresponded, as I only collect US Krags, but I read a lot of your posts, just because you obviously knew what you were talking about.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Strength and peace to you and yours, Nord. I will print out a copy of your message and hide it in the butt stock of my favorite Krag (which isn't going anywhere until I'm long gone). A time capsule it will be.

Nord,

Great to hear from you again!!  So sad to hear of your health issues.  I do like your post and the thoughts in it.  I like the thought of Century2 of putting a copy if your post in the stock of a Krag.  I have very much enjoyed corresponding with you over the years.  Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me as well as other Krag enthusiasts, and thank you very much for the help with various parts.

You are always a part of the long line of caretakers of the Krag legacy.  The Krag Collectors Association has been made better by your involvement and input.

Best regards,
Tom

Ciao Nord,
Ciao ciao !!

Nord,

I have never met you, even correspondence may have been nil.

However, in respects to you and those that cherish you. I give you a blessing of peaceful living and joy to you and those that love you. I read in this blog that someone will place a copy of this into the butt stock of a Krag. I currently have a Krag that was my Great Grandfathers. As it turns out oddly enough in the stock of my krag is my Great Grandfathers, Grandfathers, My now late Fathers, and my dog tags. My Great grandfathers tags arent his original, I feel its the thought and memory of 4 generations of servicemen that matter.

Not sure how much room is left, but I will as well carry on a legacy of krag knowlege within the void that is left.

Thank you for all the knowlege you have passed to a new generation of krag collectors and enthusiasts.

Respectfully,

Ken Stonehouse
