Greetings, My name is Dave and I am new to this message board. I am not an avid Krag collector, but have a couple of Krags. One is a Norwegian marked 1916, but the other one I need some help on. I ran across a web site the other day and they mentioned, "Other Norwegian Military KJ". They said the Germans had two versions during their occupation of Norway from 1943-1945. They stated the second model is a shortened Krag called the Stomperud Krag. The article stated all were produced in 1944 and have serial numbers between NC 673 & NC 1095. The one I have seems to meet all the specifications except the serial number is NC639, 34 numbers below the stated range. Here are the markings and measurements of mine. Overall length: 44" Barrel length: 24" Front end of stock to end of barrel: 8" Space between barrel bands: 3 1/2". The barrel at breach is marked: 1944 NC 639 & proof marks. The outside of butt plate: 118389 The inside of butt plate: 89 The stock behind butt plate: 89 The bolt lever arm is marked: 639 The bolt assembly is marked: 241 Inside the magazine is: 33202 The graduating sight 1-2200 mounting plate: Top marked S, bottom marked BD. The rear barrel band: 342 The front barrel band: 018 The front site (top of flat bar) is marked: +3 The front end of wood stock marked: 8 I will try to post pictures. Any information, no matter how insignificant you think it is, will deeply be appreciated. Thanks, Dave
