This is an interesting forum. I haven't really posted in about a year, but that's because I'm trying to learn.

I got my 1898 a year ago. It was pretty filthy. I didn't get a chance to really clean it well until last winter. The barrel took a long time, but it finally cleaned up and there is some pretty good rifling in there.

It seems that a lot of folks are like me- get a gun, try to find out some info, and move on. The regulars here are very patient and answer the same questions for everyone. I've enjoyed reading them over the past year. Thanks for the info.
