(You need to Login to view media files and links)Well, I recently acquired a very nice little Krag sporter. Only an 18-1/2" barrel and stocked Mannlicher-style with a nice little schnabel fore-end.
(You need to Login to view media files and links)I'm going to work up some deer loads using both 150-grain and 180-grain jacketed bullets. I expect that this little carbine will kick like a mule with heavy loads -- any deer-sized load suggestions suitable to a small carbine gratefully accepted.
(You need to Login to view media files and links)This little carbine is mounted with a three-leaf express sight. It has no name or model number on it -- so I'm hoping someone on the board will recognize it. None of the leaves is marked, and each has a vertically-adjustable insert. The leaves are all loose, so the previous owner carved a little block of wood to hold up whatever leaf it is used with.

(You need to Login to view media files and links)Finally, the sling swivels are attached with knurled rings -- the center posts are sping-loaded (you can puch them in, and then they spring back out) -- how do you get these off?
(You need to Login to view media files and links)TIA for any and all help.
Tom
