Finally got me a nice Krag that I hope you can tell me approximate date. Number 164960. It has an 1896 rear sight and a faint cartouche that I make out as 1899. In the future I'll try to post photos.

The tables in the Joe Poyer book would indicate manufacture in January of 1899.
