Hi,
I am a newbie in the Krag world. I just bought a norwegian 1895 krag carbine. I'd like to have information about this (ammo, value, rarity) However, the barrel band is missing and I'd like to get one, if somebody could help me.

Thanks

Norwegian Krags are not very common esp. in original configuration. True carbines even more so. Parts can be very hard to come by and as they were originally serial #ed a "correct" match is very unlikely. I shoot US factory ammo through mine with no problems. Pictures are going to be necessary for an accurate value estimate. Hopefully mussonor will see this and weigh in as he is our resident Norwegian Krag authority.

sushie:  Nice pics of your 1900 vintage M/1895 Nowegian Cavalry Carbine.  It looks like your numbers mismatch and the stock has been sanded.  Still, it's a neat little carbine and should be a lot of fun to shoot.  I would suggest you watch gunBroker for a barrel band.  Some Norwegian parts show up and you might get lucky.  Or, I hope a Forum member can help.  Nice Gun!
