sporter stock barrel band

I am going to try a sporter stock for my 1898. I have seen pics of some that had a band around the barrel that was in the forend wood, then seemed to be the base for the forward swivel. Are these still available aftermarket? I have read that the Krag design might need the sling mount around the barrel for added strength and not just in the wood as normal.
Thanks

you should be able to use the one from your rifle that you have now in that the band also helps hole the stock on the weapon.

Yes, I agree that I could use the one that goes around the barrel and the end of the wood. I was looking to clean up the end by having the band hidden inside the forend. I have seen the old Bishop and Fajen sporter stocks with this setup. Makes for a cleaner look, IMHO!
Thanks for the reply.
