Did the military ever convert Krags to 30-06?

Reason I'm asking is because I just purchased two Krags from the CMP and when I got home found out they have been converted to shoot 30-06. I'm afraid to fire any live ammo through it. Maybe they did it for blanks? Fixing to call the CMP and see if they'll take them back but wanted to make sure the military didn't do this.
thanks

No, they absolutely did not.

Perhaps the rifles simply have 1903 barrels?

This was a very common practice in the 30s-50s, when such barrels cost next to nothing, but I seriously doubt that any gunsmith in their right mind would have left the chamber as-is.

Try an '06 round - I'll bet it won't chamber.

what did you pay for the rifles I would like to know as I might be interested in them if you are going to try to send them back tto the CMP. I do not think they will take them back as it is normally a as is and no returns.
