I am trying to determine the value of this rifle.

S/N 168761

Overall Length 43 1/2".  Barrel length 24".
(Possibly cut down from 49"?)

It is in good serviceable shape.

Well, the collector value is zero, except for possible reuse of some components. It has been cut down, in a rather odd way, so the stock and barrel are both ruined. Actually, at this point, I'd cut away some of the ugliness at the front end, and then use it for hunting. I doubt that anyone would pay more then about $300-350, as is. There are ten pages of Krags at (You need to Login to view media files and links) - take a look at what is being asked there for similar wounded ducks.

Yep, it is just a different kind of cut-down job.  Not a collectors item.  If you are thinking of selling it, I could be interested.  You can e-mail me at tbutts64@gmail.com if you want to.

Best regards,
Tom

It looks as if the front sight is attached to the front band...  Is that the case or is there a modified front band installed?  Otherwise, it's not a bad looking rifle.  Looks like they left the stock pretty much as is, with the exception of it being shortened somewhat.
