Here's how the lines appear in standard editions of Kipling, complete with punctuation and spelling. Wink

    For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
    But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;

you have posted only one picture, it will also help to have the serial number to properly ID your weapon. I looks correct for a Carbine with a 1901 rear site( or looks like on on the picture). will need more pictures of both sides of the stock. You stack has been modifed with a commercial butt plate. Which has destoryed the stock for a collector and finding a correct stock will not be easy as I am looking for one myself, I have the same issue. Your stock looks like it also was modified for a sling, or could have been a arseal conversion. These are questions tha might be answered with more pictures and serial numbers.

Several years ago I purchased at a farm auction in Oklahoma a Krag carbine.  Sadly, Bubba got to it before I did having cut the butt stock adding a rubber pad (I have replaced with leather piece for now).  The good news is I hope to bring it back as best as I can. At this point I will need a butt plate, stock and possibly a few small parts. Photo attached....others may follow.
