Are the buttery smooth bolt actions of my two 30-40 Krags considered as, or similar to the Mauser bolt action. I see similarities.

They are both magazine turn-bolts, but, use totally different magazine systems.  The extractors have big differences:  The Krag's is positioned at the top of the bolt and its hook snaps over the cartridge as the round is fully seated in the chamber.  Most Mausers use rimless cartridges and the extractor (on the right side) positively controls the cartridge as the bolt strips it from the staggered cartridges in the magazine and directs the round into the chamber.  Mauser magazines are normally loaded ('charged') with 5 round 'Stripper-Clips'.  Krags have loose rounds 'dumped' into the open (side door) magazine.  Krag bolts have one locking lug plus the guide rib and bolt handle serve as 'safety' lugs.  The Mauser has two locking lugs plus a guide rib and bolt handle serving as safety lugs.  Ejection and bolt release are entirely different.  Firing pins (strikers) are entirely different.  Safeties are similar, but then, the Krag has a distinctive Cocking Piece.  The Mauser and Krag were rival systems with pronounced differences.  In a way, the Mauser was designed to be a rapid firing repeater, while the Krag was designed to be a single shot with repeater capabilities.
