Appropriate sling?

I am thinking of getting a 1907 Springfield pattern leather sling for my Krag. Would this be out of place?

Thanks, in advance.

Not sure what you mean by "Pattern", but I have a 1907 on my 1898... totally appropriate.  Cool

I think by 'pattern' they mean  repro.

I've seen many with the 1907 sling.  Personalty I like the Trap door, or 1873? sling or a Mills tropical sling.  I would say a Kerr Nubuckle is also appropriate.

Original slings are great for display but for range, I want new leather.  I have seen old leather fail causing damage to the rifle.  You can get a repro 1873 for $25 and it's well made with original style marking.  The repro Mills and Kerrs I have are nice enough for range work.

"Pattern" is British Nomenclature for Model, as in "Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifle" or "Pattern 1888 Lee-Metford Bayonet".  A "sealed pattern" or officially accepted example of a piece of military equipment (with seal attached)  was kept in the Pattern Room.  This served as a reference piece to guide uniformity in manufacture.
