LOL Ok Chuck!  Guess I'll have to look into shooting a Trapdoor (if I can sneak it off Dad's mantle) at Perry.  I bet the rapid-fire prone COF will be interesting!

yes a trap door has no charger but it needs a pocket knife to get the rounds out at times, and I bet custer would have loved to have had a few Krags!!!!

Custer had access to a couple of Gatling Guns if he had seen fit to take them.  Be prepared!

They were the big, heavy, 1" ones, which means fewer rounds for a lot of weight.

The teams assigned/available to pull them were in sad shape. However, they might have delayed his column sufficiently to allow the pincers to close, also assuming Crook stopped fishing and returned to the fight, after basically getting HIS ass kicked on the Rosebud a few days earlier.

I'm not sure Custer could have won with Spencers. The bottom line of nearly every theory is that there were WAY too many Indians, who were both angry and united as never before.

Those tacticians whom I have studied agree with Custer's decision to leave them behind, and also opine that they would not have saved the day. Many of the casualties were caused by arrow fire, a good part of it indirect. It is tempting, but not realistic, to see the Gatlings, particularly those Gatlings, being basically light artillery, as salvation, on that ground, in that fight. Did I mention that there were WAY too many Indians?

I have an old Bill Cosby comedy album.  On it there's a little skit about a coin toss like at the beginning of a football game.  Custer lost the toss to Sitting Bull, and had to take his position while Sitting Bull and all the Indians in the world rode down on him.  Now you know the rest of the story.

LOL Madsen, I was thinking of posting the same thing...   It's from Bill Cosby's first album: "Bill Cosby is a Very Funny Fellow - Right!"

Well, it wasn't 100% clean, I got a shock outta grandma, can't remember exactly what it was.  Only reason I have the album is I joined that Columbia House Record Club when I was a kid.  I probably still owe them money!
