1899 question

Print Post
Greetings,

I have an 1898 Kraig marked "U.S. Model 1899, Springfield Armory, 442779" it has a full length stock with a "JSA" cartouche on the left and P in a circle close to the trigger guard. I would appreciate some assistance in determining the approximate value as I'm considering selling it. Pictures available upon request.
Thanks

This would appear to be a mistake in reading the stamp, or some sort of "problem" since "Model 1899" should (barring some very unusual circumstance) only be found on carbines. Are you sure it is not "1898"? Sometimes the date is heavily struck, and can be misread. Do post pictures.

Must be a M1898 rifle. The value depends upon condition. Pictures are a must.
