	I'm new here as of today. Just got what I think is a Norwegen Krag Markings 1903 SN# 62346 Sling swivel gone screw holes 4 inches from tail of but plate. Looks like a engineer carbine as far as I can tell so far. 22 inch barrel adjustable front sight for wind-age Looks to have been sporterized. Has a crown with 4 dots and another I cannot make out. Any help and info please

	Hello Again Rear sight goes from 1 to 21 in increments and 2000 max indented. has the mag cut off 6.5x55 caliber Is it only 4 grove so i think, I cast-ted some 142 gr lead and ran it through the bore, hard to see the lands and groves is this because of only four groves ?? Thank you

	'ugotit33': Welcome to the KCA Forum. Your carbine is a Norwegian Krag. The Crown is above a stylized 'K' which indicates the receiver was built at the Kongsberg Vapenfabrikk (arms factory) in 1903. Sigurd Halverson, (who wrote the Chapters on Norwegian and Danish Krags in Brophy's book, "The Krag Rifle"), lists #62,346 in the number range for Model 1894 Rifles built in 1903. I imagine it is possible this action was reused and built into a Model 1897 Carbine for Mountain Artillery and Royal Engineers at a later date. Your barrel is the configuration that was used on such carbines. The sling swivel on carbines is an 'eye' which accepts a 'snap-hook' (photo attached). One is for sale now, on Ebay in Canada, for a reasonable price.

	This is what I have done so far. Barrel taken down to bare metal. Not going to touch the receiver for now. Barrel shorten from 22 to 18.5 but added another piece, to mount a muzzle break and front sight incorporated. So the barrel is now 21.5 so did not loose to much on overall sight length. You can see my Carl Gustave Mouser 6.5x55 stripper clip with my reloads, powder coat lead bullets, that I found a way to use it. I found a way to speed load the Krag Any in case anyone is interested here it is.

	Thank you on the shop comment, if you would like to see the rest of my shop let me know and I will post a few pictures ------------------------------------------------ Do you know the size and TPI of this left hand setup, ( BARREL THREADS ) in case I want to change out barrels, if this barrel is no good. ------------------------------------- I shot 11 rounds this morning in a 6 inch radius to the left, all @ 50 feet, so now working on adjustable front blade to go in a Enfield front sight I had. My lead bullets castings maybe no good for this bore. I have Prvi Partizan ammo that I use in my Mauser but trying to find the pressure of it. FMJ BT 9,0 G / 139 GR before I try it. I have read where they say the Norwegen Krag was not as strong as others and to much pressure may not be good for it. Thank you
