Krag cartridge cutaways

Here is a link to a thread showing very expertly cutaways of issue Krag cartridges.  Note the 2-piece cases.  I have never before heard of 2-piece cases for military ammunition loaded to Krag-level pressures, 30,000 to 40,000 psi or more.  Can anyone add more?

Does anybody have a clue as to what this is Dunn-Freeman cartridge is about? To fire these in a Krag would be to risk gas in the face & maybe damage to the rifle.  If used in a sub-caliber device, maybe the gun used a different type of primer and a regular one would not fire.
