I have an 1896 Krag rifle with a Stevens-Pope .22 barrel. Made 1897, excellent condition, showing just light wear. I am going to sell it and am trying to get an idea of value. They are hard to find to establish a price.

It is worth at least $1.59 and name the time and I will be there cash in hand.
Seriously I have no idea what it is worth. Some of the modified rifles done by the old masters are quite valuable. Some photos with as many details as you can provide will help the resident experts.

You are probably looking at something in the $3,000 range - plus or minus. That is the value of an SA .22, with the extractor plate design, but the Pope barreled ones are said to be in the same ball park. Expect a slow sale though - money for toys is scarce.
