Gun Store Find

So, up in Maine for a class.  Stopped in a gun store and found an 1898 Krag with faint 1902 cartouche (faint in that the wood was refinished and shiny finish just about filled in the cartouche).  Butt stock was shined up to remove rust/patina.  Angry

1902 rear sight, bore looks good and bolt locks up solid.

Worth $675 plus shipping and transfer?  The debate is, do I need another Krag?  I know, answer is obvious...... Grin

What to do......

My advice would be:  "Don't trip on the door jamb running back in to snatch that up!"  At that price, even with a shiny stock and butt plate, it sounds like a great price if it's still in full military form!  The stock can be dealt with, and you'll have another candidate for the Roosevelt Match!

It would help close the numbers gap with the Garands and M1 Carbines!
