The Rock Island Arsenal Museum has a website.

Viewable on the site are some histories that were written about The Arsenal at various times.

One such work is: "Rock Island Arsenal In Peace and In War", published in 1898.

The 'graphic', on page 53, is quite curious.

Illustrated are: #1. a Model 1892 Rifle - 'The New Magazine Rifle', #2. an ultra rare Model 1892 Carbine - 'The Cavalry Carbine', and #3. a Model 1873 Springfield Rifle.

Only two Model 1892 Carbines are believed to have been made!  Where's the carbine's clearing/cleaning rod?
