I am a Navy veteran in the post 9/11 era gaining interest in our military heritage through novice US military firearm collecting.  As such, I would like to acquire an original shootable krag from someone who can teach me it's history.  I've read about the history of the Krag and the multiple versions.  My only experience with them is holding a few at the local Gander Mountain.  I wasn't comfortable with my lack of knowledge and them being fair so, I haven't had a good opportunity to purchase one.

I hope that someone of the  Krag Collectors Association  will be able to help me to match my interest in US firearm history  and owning a Krag that could be considered "collectible".
