2018 Roosevelt Match Schedule Improved (Read 3379 times)

	Krag shooters were left to the tail end of the CMP matches at Camp Perry in 2017 and still had almost 100 target shooters on the 200 Yard Line. But many shooters had packed and headed home before the Roosevelt match. Good news for 2018! The new National Match calendar is out and available on the CMP web site. We get to shoot first! Then the popular sniper rifle match on the same range on the same afternoon, then then the Vintage and Springfield matches. So there will be more shooting over fewer days. And more vintage rifle shooters staying to shoot guns with wood stocks. Check the CMP.org web site and click on National Matches and see the 2018 calendar. 	Hmm, back to August. That'd make it Roosevelt on 8/3, Garand on 8/4, then Vintage on 8/5 for me. Wish I still had the Devine made M1A that I once had my fingers on! I'd shoot that 8/4 too!

	I hope you all noticed that in 2018 the Roosevelt match is fired in the morning and the vintage sniper match is fired that afternoon on the same range . So we can fire the Roosevelt at 200 yards and fall back to 300 yards and pick up your sniper rifles and keep right on shooting! You asked for it and now we have it. You now have 11 months to come up with a vintage sniper rifle. CAT Man

	I am not getting my Garand drilled and tapped! I do have a G&H mount that'd be close enough, but no! Besides, I'd also have to find a GI stock.
