I went to my LGS today to get either hodgdon or imr 4350 but as usual he was out but he did have a few lbs of accurate 4350, I have never even heard of it and checking my loading manuals there's not a lot of info about it. It is made in Canada an is supposed to have about the same burn rate as imr or hodgdon.  Have any of you tried it?

Never tried it... but it should be relatively close to the IMR formula.  The burn rate is comparable to H-4350.  My Hornady 9th edition lists loads for IMR-4350, but not H-4350, however, the difference is negligible at 40 grains.

I didn't buy it as I wasn't sure, guess I'll go back tomorrow and give it a shot. It was $25.99 a lbs. for around my parts, that's not too bad.

Unfortunately, IMR-4350 is getting hard to find.  I usually get powder at the local Cabelas, and they've been out for almost a year now (or they're always out when I go look).  At Camp Perry during nationals week, the venders that sell powder were all sold out quickly, while there remained a lot of other powders!  Fortunately, there is a sporting goods store not too far from me which only sells shooting stuff... and they had several lbs of the stuff last month so I bought a couple!

If you go back a few years or more, IMR powders were all made in Canada.  If the price was OK, I would buy it.

The Accurate 4350 is likely made in the same plant that IMR is/was made at in Canada.  Probably the same stuff.  After all, how many gunpowder plants are there in Canada?  (You need to Login to view media files and links)
