	Can I get an SRS check on serial number 243830.

	'WWIIdocent' - Welcome to the KCA Forum! (Sorry, no one else has responded to your inquiry, so here is what I have). No SRS hit on Krag, #243830, in the SRS tables, printed in the appendix, of Mallory's "Krag Rifle Story", 2nd edition. Your number is bracketed by #243757 (1898 rifle, 05-14-06, NY turned in) and #243915 (1898 rifle, 07-01-18, Co B - 34th Engineers, Fort Benjamin Harrison). BTW - You can't make assumptions about the issue or history of a specific Krag based on 'neighboring' or close numbers. Krags were not completed or issued in numeric order. Your Krag was likely assembled as a rifle, around December, 1899, or January, 1900. Pictures of your Krag might produce more observations.

How did you happen to acquire your superb looking beauty of a rifle? According to your member name would you by chance happen to be a guide at a WWII museum?
