	I just purchased my second and third krag from half way across the country , one of the krags didn't look exactly right but price was inexpensive. Serial number surprised me and confused me . All I have are poor pic's from seller but was able to make out 360702i believe. Any help would be much appreciated as I will leave it as is till proper parts can be located . Thank you.

	'Canuckrag' - Welcome to the KCA Forum. The picture you posted appears to be of a receiver marked Model 1899. All U.S. model 1899 Krags were built as carbines and had barrels that were exactly 22 inches, measured from muzzle to closed bolt face. Serial number 360702 was likely assembled around November or December, 1901. Both model 1899 carbines and model 1898 rifles were built in that serial number range. Your Stock appears to be an 1899 carbine stock that was heavily sanded. There appears to be some type of 'sporting' front-sight installed on your Krag.
