We will need some full length pictures and both sides of the receiver. The rear sight looks like the work of "Bubba" the holes in the barrel are likely for the original rear sight. It appears to be an 1894 style receiver.

I wonder if they tacked that rear sight down before, after, or during a firing session.  Not much of a tack, maybe the barrel beneath didn't get too hot.

Tbayfinn - 'grandpa's gun parts' sells parts for U.S. Springfield Armory made Krags.

Your Krag is a Norwegian model and parts do not interchange and there are vast differences between Norwegian and U.S. models.

FWIW - Norwegian parts do show up on eBay and gunbroker, but, tend to be expensive. IMHO - Your Krag is too far gone to be a candidate for restoration. A more practical course would be attractive commercial sights for sport purposes.

I have it a gunsmith right now doing a deep cleaning on it. And they verified that the sellior belliot ammo can be shot thru it.
