Beautiful woodworking. You don’t see checkered handguards. Very over the top as it’s just for looks. Works well with the rest of the checkering.

I wonder where the maker found the Italian walnut to plug that handguard with.  Checkering looks like slow and tedious work that one little slip would quickly ruin.
