Has anyone tried H4350 instead of IMR4350? My 6.5x55 Swede much prefers the H4350, I wonder if the Krag has the same tastes?

I've used/use both, haven't really seen much difference between the two.

I'm using IMR4350 for my Krags because that's all that was available at the time.  I got 8 lbs so It'll last awhile.  I've not tried to determine a performance difference between the two but I wouldn't expect to see measurable difference (but u never know) in POI or grouping up to 200 yds.  200 is all we shoot for matches.
We'd be interested in your results, should you undertake a study.

Several "F" class and bench rest shooters have told me, that H4350 shoots much better in 6.5mm, than IMR 4350. The H4350 IS significantly better in my 6.5x55. Since no one here has apparently compared the two 4350's, except Craigster, I may have to try it, and see which makes my Krag happier. It is curious, that all three 4350's have about the same burn rate, and some even say they are interchangeable (I would not try that), but in the 6.5mm H4350 delivers much different accuracy. If I do make the comparison, I will let everyone know. I may not get the chance until warmer weather.

My only experience in that burn rate is RL19.  Just another flavor of 4350 it appears, ought to be good in the 6.5x55 too, if I ever get around to doing something with the Stomperud and a full length stock I bought!  Is the H4350 ADI made?  I've had good experience with the ADI made H4831, except it lets you know when pressure is too low for its liking with large unburnt yellow kernals.  Strung that stuff through the action of my Garand once, good thing I had a chamber brush with me!

I've been using IMR-4350 for years... and never looked back (IMR is the former Dupont, which is the company that acquired the the original Laflin and Rand company, which produced the W.A. 30 Caliber powder originally used in Krag ammo).  All that said, I'm sure that H4350 would produce great results too.  (Hercules did acquire the patents for many of Laflin and Rand's powders, including Bullseye and Unique)

Now, I DID switch from IMR-4895 to H4895 for my 30-06 rounds in my Garand and 1903A3... and I DO believe the results are better!

One final note:  I do believe H4350 would be cleaner burning than IMR-4350, which is quite dirty.  H4895 is similarly cleaner than IMR-4895.
