I just successfully bid on the DCM receipt from a 1929 Sale of an "NRA Carbine", to an NRA Member in Buffalo, N.Y.

The altered Krag was shipped from Benicia Arsenal.

Now I just have to 'bump into' the cut-down rifle!

(attached for everyone's enjoyment: partial copies of receipt pages).

Interesting that it cost more to cut the rifle down to carbine size than the rifle cost itself. Hopefully, somebody comes up with it for you. Personally, I'd like to find the serial numbers of the Krags my great grandfather had while in the Army, but it is pert near impossible.

I thought it of interest to see the type of document that might establish an "NRA Carbine" as genuine.

It would be interesting to see if the paperwork and gun can be married again. But if somebody got both, who would it be? The gun owner or document owner? Sad First things first I guess.

If a KCA Member has Krag #180962, I will gift him or her the paperwork, at cost.

I just wanted to add to "The KCA Pool of Knowledge".
