Vintage Krag Ammunition Picture

I don't know if this has been done recently but I was messing with some old ammo and thought I'd get a neat picture of some of my vintage .30 US or .30-40 Krag Ammunition. There are dozens of different vintage boxes I've seen and I try to pick one up when I see a good price.

I'm sure there are many more out there but I'd like to see more pictures of vintage Krag ammunition, especially unusual boxes I don't have. It'll give me something else to look for at gun shows!

Thanks and good hunting...

A nice display 'Whig'. I love the 'throwaway stuff' that got saved!

Here are a couple ammo boxes that are different, with Sight boxes and a Score Book.

I also try to find old sight literature and catalogs.

Years ago, I obtained a small 'Drill Manual', that adapted U.S. Drill for the .30 caliber Magazine Rifle for Michigan National Guard use with 'trapdoor' Springfield.
Original soldier's name, Corporal Spreat, 2nd Infantry (later numbered 32nd Michigan), is penciled on cover.

I've seen that score book before. Never picked one up yet. The colors and designs on these old boxes are wonderful. Nice collection too.

Here is some stuff I'd like to have. I agree, the old colors and artwork are charming:

Ah the old Silvertips.  I wrote the CEO of Winchester once, suggesting that they get with Nosler after someone had written a bad evaluation of the Black Talon rifle bullets.  I lamented the loss of the Silvertip line and further suggested the name for a bullet to be developed by Nosler, the Ballistic Silvertip.  Wasn't long after that the Combined Technology bullets came out with the name Ballistic Silvertip!  Bob Nosler thanked me by giving me a Combined Technology cap.  What I really wanted was a position in his ballistics lab!

Where America use to shop ....

Viewed on GunBroker - I haven't seen this ammo box before.

Also, Frankford Arsenal .30-40 ammo for Krag actions adapted for sub-caliber artillery practice devices.
