Here is an early study of the Krag Jorgensen rifle in November of 1894. This article showed up in the "United Service" by W. A. Campbell, 2nd Lieut., 9th Infantry and is only about 17 pages long. It appears to be a pragmatic and inciteful view of this new concept with discussions of rifles used by other countries at that time. It was written with a "time will tell" attitude by a soldier not too high in the ranks and likely with little political persuasion, thus perhaps a raw opinion.
