Interesting Powder Can (Read 2697 times)

	I recently picked up this Laflin & Rand powder can, for Smokeless Gun Powder (shotgun). I was surprised to find the can's 'cap' was intended to serve as a powder 'measure' and that 'loading data' for 10, 12, and 16 Gauge 'high-base' shells was printed on the back of the can.

	I love the cracked patina on that first can you got. Great find. I collect too much stuff and have passed up some nice old gun powder cans. The old Dupont cans sure look nice on the shelf.

	Stuff gets expensive on ebay and I have to de-clutter. But it's fun to look - (L&R 1900 vintage handbook on ebay). More crap to 'scout for' at gun shows!

	'AFJuvat' - A beautiful and wonderful read - Thanks for posting the 'link'. I read this article years ago, but, was unable to find it. The graphics are GREAT! Klaus Neuschaefer did an amazing job of researching and presenting the history of Laflin & Rand. BTW - It is interesting that my powder can, Laflin & Rand - Smokeless for Shotguns, came out in 1898 and was discontinued in 1900. It was replaced by "Infallible" Shotgun Powder, almost immediately.
