How about dat U.P. ?

Mtn Dew has a new ad campaign that features a map, "DEWNITED states", honoring each of the 50 states.

It didn't work out so well for Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The U.P. was made part of Wisconsin.

The 'Yoopers' raised a mighty protest and Mtn Dew responded with wisdom and Class. They apologized ... and ... the U.P. will be getting their own special label!

Ya hey, you betcha. Now Michigan will have two state labels!

(It pays to complain ... that's how Michigan got most of the U.P. in the first place ... reparations for the loss of Toledo).  Grin Grin Roll Eyes

Some would say Ohio's loss was Michigan's gain.

I am all for sending Toledo back.  Would you be interested in Columbus?  Will get you a great deal.

The Territory of Michigan Militia and Ohio State Troops confronted each other and both sides wisely fled. (We've been friends ever since).

Michigan won (the rest of the U.P. and Statehood).

Indiana won (some Lake Michigan shoreline).

Ohio sort of won, they got what they wanted, (Toledo, the mouth of the Maumee River and an income stream from Michigan 'Speeders').

Wisconsin was the loser. Congress worked them over real good!

My Ex-Wife is from, and currently lives in Wisconsin (Kenosha to be exact)... so I'm good with Wisconsin losing out!  (no offense intended to the good Kragsters in the Badger state... just to my Ex-Wife)  Grin
