Charlie Maxwell was my favorite Ball Player, when I was an 11 year old kid.

"Old Paw Paw" was a Michigan native and played right field flawlessly. He was a fantastic clutch hitter.

Charlie had an amazing ability to hit Home Runs during Sunday matinee games, especially, against the hated N.Y. Yankees.

Charlie Maxwell, at age 92, still resides near Paw Paw, Michigan. It looks like the 'Lefty' can still swing a bat!

I guess I have several favorite Tigers.  Beyond Mickey Lolich, Stormin Norman Cash, Jim Northrup, and Bill Freehan (who I saw every Sunday Morning at Church), I have very fond memories of Eddie Brinkman and Joe Coleman.  Eddie and Joe lived in the apartment complex adjacent to our neighborhood, and once in a while, they'd come out to the school yard where we were playing ball and play with us!  Of course, these guys are all from the era of my childhood, which is when I became a lifelong Tigers fan!!!
