i only have one Krag rifle but am trying which sling would be correct i have a web mills sling ( not a repop ) another leather  sling . my rifle mfg Dec 1898 . just trying to which would be best .  thx for your time...............Bob when i bought the rifle it came with a 98 mk'd bayo and the butt trap had 3 rods and an oiler inside.

I would recommend a leather sling, 66 and 1/2 inches or shorter, with a single brass-frog (claw).

Original slings are getting 'crazy expensive' and often have weak areas. Some real inexpensive reproductions show up on ebay.

It is good practice not to leave a leather sling on your rifle for long periods of time. (Metal corrosion, mildew, and leather cracking).

From what I've read, the U.S. canvass Mill's Sling was tested on a limited basis and was not liked by troops.
