That is really pandering to the current generation.

I don't know what a "SOY BOY" is.

But, I know my ears hurt!

You'd think an old venerated U.S. manufacturer would encourage proper terminology on reloading components???

Maybe it helps avoid restrictions on "cartridge cases"?

It's obvious that Winchester has re-entered the Brass game again.  With Hornady, GRAF, Captech and Remington all back in the fray, Winchester must have taken notice and not wanted to be left out.

It seems the lean times are behind us (for now) boys....  WOOHOO - Let's get loading!!!

Not Captech.  They were liquidated back in August.

Don't any of you be lolled into a false sense of security.  That includes you Non-KCA Krag owning folks.  Stock up now with ten bags.  Heck!  Stock up with twenty bags.  Do not fall into the small minded thinking of "Oh, I don't shoot that much so I'll just buy one bag now and can always pick up more later".

Plenty of us went through that during Barky's Administration.  I am not going to be caught short again no matter what the caliber.

Followed the link and bought two bags. Only opened one bag and inspected. About a 10% drop out rate due to pleats in the neck/mouth area. Reworked two and possibly saved them, four went in the scrap pile.

Well, that's just damned unacceptable for new brass.

IMHO - A buyer should not have to anneal brand new brass. The neck area was annealed in the manufacturing process. New brass should be 'good to go'.

After a number of re-loadings, or years of aging, the case necks become 'work hardened' or more brittle (and inclined to split). Annealing remedies this situation.

A brand new bag of cartridge brass may have a few cases with the mouth area slightly pressed out-of-round or a slight 'dimple' in the case shoulder, but, these are easily corrected for use.

Occasionally, you may find one defective cartridge case, in a bag of 100, that was flawed in the manufacturing process and is scrap. (This has been my experience).

Your experience and description, of six cartridge cases (in a bag of 50) 'having pleats' in the neck area, is rare and unusual.
It suggests a problem at the factory that resulted in flawed cartridge cases and they got through, undetected.

You should inspect your second bag immediately. You should save the 'reject' cartridge cases and photograph them.

You should notify the Distributor and the Manufacturer and expect that they correct the problem! (Send photos of the damaged brass, as received).

p.s. Posted photos on the KCA Forum would be of interest to members.
