Peep Sight Elevation Markings Question
Dec 28th, 2019 at 4:56am

A question for you old time Krag shooters, are these markings for reference only or do they translate into yds per hashmark at a given velocity?

I am shooting 220 grain Hornaday Round Nose over 40 grs of IMR 4350 in new Winchester brass. These are supposed to be loaded to about 2000 fps, but I did not use the Magnetospeed to verify last time out as I was too busy getting the peep windage set.

Any help would be appreciated.

Since the significance of rear-sight graduations would be related to (and change with) barrel length and height of front sight, the marks are for reference and allow the return to a 'setting'.
