A 1901 sporting article (somewhat hard to read) about the Krag barrel methodology followed by a call to allow citizens to purchase the rifle.

Also mentioned that the receiver started out as a forging, I think the starting weight before machining wad 6+ pounds. Chamber end of the barrel was heat treated?!?1, did not know that. Bits and clues from all over on how Krags were made.
