Disappointing Sellers

Went to the Michigan Antique Arms Collector's show in Novi Michigan today.  Saw my good friend Butlersrangers!  However, I also something that was very disheartening:  The were a few sellers with Krags, some really pretty and priced right.  And then, there were a few sellers that I would have liked to pop upside the head.  There was a guy with an 1898 priced at around $400.  Looked ok at first glance, but when I really looked deeper, I was shocked!  I'm betting that he had NEVER cleaned the bore.  The  barrel was (for all intents and purposes, a sewer pipe!!!

Also saw a carbine priced around $850.  It had a crappy bore,  rifle rear sight, and I'm betting the stock wasn't really original eigher!

Bringing dirty guns with dirty bores to a gunshow to sell is probably not conducive to selling many guns. Since you can’t shoot them at the show to see how they do the least you can do is look down the bore and dream....Or have a nightmare.
