Question on O.A.L.

Hello to the forum: I have been doing some casting with my new .30 mold for my krag carbine. When loaded to the max recommended length of 3.089 the bullet is in the crimping groove and about an 1/8 inch short of the lands. Is that considered normal or is something out of whack? The chamber and rifling are in good shape. It seems like a lot of freebore. Does that have an effect on accuracy? As always thanks in advance.
