If you click on the link Culpeper posted, and scroll down one page... there's an ad promoting using Laflin & Rand's "Marksman smokeless powder in Krags.  Interesting!  Does anyone know if Marksman is still manufactured, and under what name?

Check out "L&:R smokeless pdf". A lot of interesting info on the company and its fate.

This from the pdf referenced by KC:

Interesting their ad says good  to 600yds. According to "The Smokeless Powders of Laflin & Rand and Their Fate 100 Years  After Assimilation by Dupont" by Klaus Neuschaefer 2007,  Marksmen was introduced in 1904 as a reduced load "gallery" powder for rifles and L&R's only single based powder. It was renamed to Dupont Gallery Rifle #75 in 1907 when  L&R was purchased by Dupont and discontinued in 1928.

It would be fun to know if a 6mm USN Winchester-Lee was put to the test in a shooting match at Sea Girt.

Culpeper - Thanks for finding and sharing "Shooting & Fishing" copy.

You're welcome, Old Fellow.  (Sorry.  Just finishied a Sherlock Holmes movie.)

Yes it would be interesting to see or read that if it had ever happened.  But I am still dedicated to bringing a Win Lee to the firing line at Camp Perry.  CP2021!
