	Once in a while you get lucky. I got hooked up with this true 1892 that was never upgraded to 96. The closest I thought I would ever get was my 4 digit serial number 96 upgrade with a 92 handguard and small wrist stock.

	There are things I'm curious about, too. Is the cleaning rod eliminated under the barrel? Was the groove filled in with a rounded or squared off piece of wood. Armory updated? Date of cartouche? Still has the 1892 bolt? No bolt hold open update? How about a full length shot.

	this rifle was never upgraded to 96, all 92 features including channel for ramrod. It had been bobbed. I'll post mre photos later Mark

	Really nice so far... I love the thin wrist Krag stocks. Would be nice to see the bolt removed from the action.

	Does this one have the hold open notch? I did not see the hold open pin on the extractor. Maybe they were off to the side? Possibly only partly upgraded?

	no, no hold open notch on receiver and no pin on the extactor, the rifel was not upgraded. Maybe there is some confusion as I mentioned another rifle I have with four digit serial number that was, indeed, upgraded to 1896.

	You have an older M1892 bolt with the squared lug under the bolt handle. Early Krag square lugged bolts had the serial number on them. Does yours? Here's a link with pictures showing the differences between Krag bolts: (You need to *Login* to view media files and links)
